Job summary

Trinity Health PACE seeks a part-time Chaplain to serve as a clinical spiritual care provider across care sites in the Gaithersburg area. The role supports patients, families, and staff by addressing spiritual distress, facilitating religious practices, and contributing to holistic care planning.

The chaplain collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, documents in the medical record, and develops spiritual care programs. Requires Master’s degree and CPE; Board Certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in theology, Religion, Spiritual Care, or related field.
• 1–3 years of spiritual care experience, including 4 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
• Board Certified Chaplain (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and standard software tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff.
• Assess spiritual needs and develop care plans with appropriate interventions or referrals.
• Document spiritual assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Serve as an active member of the healthcare team, contributing to holistic care planning.
• Develop and support spiritual care programs and educate staff on recognizing spiritual needs.
• Facilitate collaboration with community clergy and faith leaders.
