Job summary

Central Point School District 6 in Southern Oregon seeks an Educational Assistant II for Speech Support on a part-time basis. Working 5.75 hours per day at district level, you will support classroom teachers, assist with instruction, supervise students, and help with assessment tasks and IEP documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following: Associate degree, two years post-high school, or a passing score on the District's assessment.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a general knowledge of English language arts and mathematics.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing classroom learning exercises planned by the Teacher.
• Oversee group activity in the classroom, including supervision of the whole class for short periods of time.
• Assist small groups or individuals with skill reinforcement or lesson assignments.
• Presents teacher-designed subject matter to students through a variety of methods, including lecture, discussion and supervised individual and group skill development and reinforcement.
• Coordinates daily activities and instruction as directed.
• Assists in proctoring student assessments and maintenance of student records, including attendance, progress, grades and the preparation of IEP and PEP documents.
