Qualifications

• Must have an Associates degree or evidence of two years of post-high school study or a passing score on the District's assessment of reading, writing and math skills.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of English language arts and mathematics.
• Clear criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing classroom learning exercises planned by the Teacher.
• Oversee group activity in the classroom and supervise the whole class for short periods.
• Assist small groups or individuals with skill reinforcement or lesson assignments.
• Present teacher-designed material using varied methods (lecture, discussion, supervised work).
• Coordinate daily activities and instruction as directed.
• Assist in proctoring assessments and maintaining student records (attendance, progress, grades, IEP/PEP documents).
• Supervise student gathering points (play areas, cafeteria, bus stops, hallways).
• Assist in classroom setup and maintenance of materials and supplies.
• Distribute instructional materials and communicate with staff/parents about progress.

Education

Associates degree

Two years post-high school study

Passing score on reading/writing/math assessment

High school diploma or GED
