Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (PRN, part-time) to provide speech therapy in the home setting. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy for deficits in speech, language, cognition, voice and dysphagia.

The role requires CCC-SLP (ASHA) or active CFY with certification within one year of employment, and an active state license.

Qualifications

• CCC-SLP certification with ASHA or active CFY and certification within one year of employment.
• Active license as Speech-Language Pathologist in state of practice.
• Hospital, SNF, outpatient or home health exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients using diagnostic assessments to determine intervention needs.
• Implements individualized treatment programs for speech, language, cognition, voice and dysphagia.
• Plans therapy considering patient age and coordinates with rehab/nursing care plans.
• Provides direct therapy in multiple settings and documents results.
• Communicates with patient, family, physician and team; maintains progress notes.
• Participates in program development and supervises interns when applicable.
