Job summary

Avera Majestic Bluffs/Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, SD is seeking a part-time, PRN Speech-Language Pathologist to cover PTO and leaves of absence, with hours based on need.

You will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans addressing speech, language, cognition, voice and dysphagia, and provide direct therapy in various settings while coordinating care with the rehab and nursing teams.

Qualifications

• CCC-SLP certification or active supervised fellowship within one year of employment.
• Active licensure as Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
• Preferred 1-3 years in hospital, SNF, outpatient or home health settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients and interprets assessments to determine intervention needs.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans for speech pathology.
• Provides direct therapy to patients across setting; coordinates with rehab/nursing teams.
• Plans and documents evaluation results, goals, progress notes, and reports.
• Communicates with patient, family, physician, and multidisciplinary team.
• Participates in department program development and student internships.
