Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab, part of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part-time role at our Wellsburg Healthcare Center. The SLP will be an in-house team member delivering therapy to residents while collaborating with the rehab team.

Qualifying candidates hold a Bachelor's and/or Master's in Speech-Language Pathology and a valid or pending state license. Responsibilities include evaluating charts, developing treatment plans, and guiding families on

• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen patients' medical charts and develop a treatment plan.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on practicing new skills and safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and make rehab recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelors and/or a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate, Review, and Screen patient's/resident's medical charts, evaluations under physician order and develop a treatment plan in accordance with patient's needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and/or cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehab team, as well as participating in family meetings/education.
