Job summary

CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist at Wellsburg Healthcare Center in Wellsburg, WV. The position offers in-house team collaboration and a chance to impact residents’ therapy outcomes.

The role involves evaluating charts, creating treatment plans, directing rehabilitative programs, and educating families and caregivers. Interdisciplinary meetings and multi-location treatment are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state SLP license or license-pending status.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen patients' medical charts and evaluations under physician order; develop treatment plans.
• Plan and conduct rehabilitative programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive functions.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide practice strategies; give diet recommendations and safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend or lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and recommendations; participate in family meetings/education.
• Treat at multiple locations as needed to meet residents' needs.
