Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (ASHA certified) to deliver clinical services to adults and children with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders, under ASHA supervision.

You will diagnose, treat, and follow up care, collaborate with HFHS teams, mentor students, and participate in education and research initiatives. A Michigan license and CCC/ASHA certification are required; prior CFY and Praxis completion expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program.
• Successful completion of the National Praxis Examination.
• Successful completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
• One year of experience in a clinical setting required.
• The State of Michigan license; Certificate of Clinical Competence by ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical speech-language pathology services to HFHS patients in adult and pediatric populations.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and HFHS staff to address communication and swallowing challenges.
• Diagnose speech, language, or swallowing disorders and evaluate prognosis.
• Create customized treatment and therapy programs tailored to individual needs.
• Schedule and conduct follow-up visits to monitor progress.
• Operate clinical equipment to measure speech production during evaluations and treatment.
• Perform endoscopic assessments of vocal fold function and swallowing capabilities.
• Mentor departmental graduate students and clinical fellows; manage schedules and conduct reviews.
• Represent HFHS at conferences and share information about available programs.
