Job summary

Indian Prairie School District 204 seeks a part-time Middle School Special Education Teaching Assistant to support students with IEP objectives and assist teachers with instructional plans. You will help modify instruction, administer tests, and track progress while maintaining safety and a positive classroom environment.

The role involves assisting with daily living tasks as needed, traveling between schools, and participating in weekly team meetings and trainings to support student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates will hold a valid Educator License with Stipulations (PARA), Substitute License, or Professional Educator License.
• Experience with special education students preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus quality criteria may apply per district policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities to maximize participation and achievement of IEP objectives.
• Implement instructional plans determined by licensed teachers and therapists.
• Support learning objectives by prompting, cuing, and redirecting students to stay on task.
• Administer curriculum-based tests/quizzes as directed.
• Record and track student progress toward IEP goals.
• Maintain safety, decorum, and order in classrooms and common areas.
• Attend team meetings and trainings to review progress and plan lessons.
