Job summary

Millennium Health LLC is seeking a Part-Time Specimen Collector in Morganton, NC. You will collect patient urine and oral fluid, process and package collections for shipping, and serve as the liaison between clinics and the laboratory.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient service, HIPAA and security compliance, and accurate record-keeping. Schedule is Thursdays 9am–1pm, with driving between facilities as needed; benefits include 401k, PTO, and health resources.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of specimen collector experience or 1+ year in medical field supporting patients.
• 2+ years of customer service can substitute for medical experience.
• Must navigate smartphone and computer effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Familiarity with medical codes and insurance/billing is a plus.
• Must comply with HIPAA, HiTrust and security policies at all times.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping.
• Serve as intermediary between practice/clinic and laboratory.
• Record patient information, physician orders, and lab data.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient info in the portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Observe collection procedures for Millennium Health specimens when applicable.
• Drive between facilities as required.
