Part-Time Specialist III, Wellness Center

Under general/limited supervision, the Part‑Time Specialist III, Wellness Center is responsible for multiple, significant functions in the campus Wellness Center. The role ensures compliance with all LSC policies, practices, and surrounding functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise the weight room.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Welcome guests to the Wellness Center.
- Teach guests how to use equipment and provide basic fitness information.
- Enforce rules and regulations.
- Administer basic first aid if necessary.
- Report and resolve complaints.
- Re‑rack weight plates as needed.
- Clean equipment and surrounding floor space, cardiovascular machine, free weights, and pin selector.
- Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Cooperate and work well with staff members.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of fitness equipment and exercise.
- Customer‑service orientation.
- Proficiency with computers and office software (Windows, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, word processing, database management).
Physical Abilities
The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or lifting moderately heavy items. Above‑average agility and dexterity are beneficial.
Work Schedule and Conditions
- Work performed in a gymnasium/fitness environment.
- Potential scheduling of morning, afternoon, evening shifts on weekdays or weekends.
- Use of PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- AED/CPR/First‑Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification within the first 30 days of hire.
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.60
