Job summary

Irondistrict is seeking a Part Time Special Education Paraprofessional for Parowan Elementary to provide instructional support under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. The role involves assisting with learning activities, observing behavior, and helping manage the classroom across multiple student groups.

The position requires reliable attendance, familiarity with basic office tools, and willingness to learn additional computer systems and software as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have basic computer knowledge; be familiar with Google Docs and check email frequently; willing to learn and use new computer systems and software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support assistance to students and student groups to reinforce and follow up learning activity.
• Assists in observing and recording behavior patterns and follows appropriate techniques to reinforce acceptable behavior.
• Assists certified educators with the presentation of learning materials and instructional exercise.
• Participates in the development, maintenance, and carrying out of systems for classroom management.
• Guides students in working and interacting harmoniously with other students.
• Supervises students in all areas of the school.
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and job performance is required
• Operates various types of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, etc.
• Monitor students inside and outside of the building during lunch hour.
• Must have basic computer knowledge, be familiar with Google docs and check email frequently. Must be willing to learn and use all computer systems and software as needed.
