Job summary

Global Psychological in Pontiac, Michigan, is seeking a Special Education Coordinator for a part-time role (3 days per week). The position focuses on ensuring compliance with IEP guidelines, attendance tracking, and high-quality educational support for students with special needs.

You will lead program development, supervise staff, participate in hiring, provide training, and collaborate with district teams to implement individualized instruction and accommodations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education or related field.
• Current Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsement.
• Supervisor, Administrator, or Director certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of special education experience.
• Experience with IEP documentation and record-keeping.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with special education laws, including documentation and record-keeping.
• Ensure accurate attendance tracking and proper accommodations per IEP guidelines.
• Prepare reports, IEPs, 504s, audits, and student logs.
• Guide the development of individualized instruction methods.
• Oversee and adapt special education services, behavior plans, and assistive technology.
• Collaborate with the District Discipline Team to ensure fair disciplinary actions and interventions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate special education programs with leadership.
• Investigate and resolve program-related emergencies and compliance issues.
• Provide training, coaching, and support to special education teachers and staff.
• Supervise staff schedules, performance, and time records.
• Conduct evaluations, address performance concerns, and implement corrective actions.
• Attend county, state, and district meetings to stay updated on policies and best practices.
• Maintain clear communication with leadership, administrators, and school personnel.
