Job summary

Southern University Shreveport, Inc. seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Special Education to teach undergraduate and/or graduate students in alignment with program outcomes. The role includes supervising field experiences, coordinating with partner schools, and ensuring rigorous instruction in inclusive settings.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Special Education and at least five years of related experience. A doctoral degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Special Education, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in special education, teaching, or a related educational setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional practices and strategies for diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver course content aligned with SOE curriculum.
• Provide instruction that supports students with diverse learning needs.
• Facilitate field experience hours and liaise with local schools.
• Utilize university systems for course facilitation, recordkeeping, assessment, and communication.
• Adhere to assessment blueprint and maintain records.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students.
