Qualifications

• High school diploma with one of the following options.
• Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours of college credit or passing paraprofessional assessment test.
• Proficient with technology appropriate for the position.
• Proficient in grammar skills.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be approved by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with development and presentation of learning materials and exercises.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning activities.
• Supervise students in classroom, library, lunchroom, playground, field trips and drills.
• Assist in development of instructional materials.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, or duplicating materials.
• Maintain student records and files.
• Operate and care for instructional media and office equipment.
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher.
• Assist with strategies to reinforce material based on students’ needs.
