WB – Oak Ridge School District in Oak Ridge, Tennessee seeks a Special Education Teacher Assistant for interim coverage from Nov 11, 2026 to Feb 24, 2027. The role supports students with disabilities, assists with instruction, supervision, and personal care needs, and helps maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The candidate will lift, assist with mobility, and help with age-appropriate activities while following safety procedures.

Mansioni

• Work under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher unless otherwise assigned by the appropriate supervisor
• Assist with instructional activities and individualized student supports as directed by the classroom teacher
• Maintain student records and document student progress as directed by the teacher
• Assist with the administration of diagnostic tools and instructional assessments under the teacher's direction
• Prepare the classroom and organize instructional materials, supplies, and equipment
• Monitor students and maintain established classroom routines during brief teacher absences for staffing meetings, consultation, or other assigned responsibilities
• Support students in developing academic, behavioral, social, and daily living skills
• Assist students with toileting, feeding, and other personal care activities as required, while respecting their dignity and encouraging independence
• Perform lifting, bending, and mobility-related tasks necessary to support students, following required training and established safety procedures
• Assist with student supervision during bus trips, lunch, recess, transitions, and before- or after-school activities as assigned
• Attend required training, professional development, and faculty meetings as directed by the principal or supervisor
• Protect the confidentiality of student records and school information in accordance with FERPA and district procedures
• Establish and maintain respectful, professional working relationships with students, families, and school personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or appropriate supervisor
