Job summary

Community Unit School District 200 is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities under the supervision of the classroom teacher and building principal. The role emphasizes instructional and non-instructional activities to aid learning and independence.

Starting hourly rate is $17.23, with $19.23 for high-needs classrooms and $23.23 after completing a 40-hour RBT training. Eligible employees receive health, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Paraprofessional (Aide) Approval or equivalent licensure.
• Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
• Ability to function within the school environment and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of instructional activities for students with disabilities.
• Reinforce information after lessons and monitor progress.
• Assist groups or individuals during academic and life-skill activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and positive relationships with staff and families.
