The candidate must meet the 30 college credit hours or Para-Pro exam requirement, demonstrate good moral character, and be capable of assisting students physically and behaviorally throughout the school day. This role involves collaboration with teachers and BCBA teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 30 college credit hours or successful completion of the Para-Pro examination (1755).
• Person must be of good moral character.
• Knowledge of and ability to assist with students physically and behaviorally throughout designated times within the school day.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing instructional materials for targeted instruction as set forth by the teacher.
• Monitor student behavior during non-instructional periods.
• Assist with supervision during meals and snacks.
• Provide specific personal care for students (e.g., toileting/self-care, feeding, repositioning, sensory diet).
• Work with the classroom teacher and BCBA to observe, record, and chart students' behavioral responses (data collection).
• Model good effort, communication, and behavior; implement behavioral plans; assist with assistive technology and individualized instruction; reinforce teacher-developed instruction; help students become more independent with peers; participate in team meetings.
