• Adapt instructional materials, assessments, and classroom activities to meet individual student needs.
• Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
• Support students in developing essential academic, organizational, communication, and self-advocacy skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow applicable educational policies and student support plans.
• Contribute to the school's mission of providing a strong academic foundation within a caring Catholic community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• Appropriate New Jersey teaching certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification, or working towards certification.
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction, evidence-based teaching practices, and individualized student support strategies.
• Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• A patient, flexible, and student-centered approach to teaching.
• A commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• An appreciation for the mission and values of Catholic education.
