Sleep.ai is seeking a part-time Project Manager, Research & Validation Studies in Carlsbad, CA. You will oversee a portfolio of 10+ concurrent validation studies from proposal through completion, coordinating timelines, budgets, and IRB submissions while maintaining rigorous scientific standards and client commitments.

The role sits at the intersection of science, business development, and research operations in a hybrid environment requiring 1–2 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of customer-facing project management experience in a research-oriented setting.
• Experience drafting, coordinating, or supporting proposals, budgets, agreements, or SOWs.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and stakeholders.
• Sound, practical judgment and proactive problem-solving to improve processes.

Responsabilités

• Manage a portfolio of 10+ concurrent research and validation studies from proposal to close-out.
• Develop proposals, timelines, budgets, service agreements, and SOWs with Business Development and Scientific Research.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for external sponsors and partners; communicate updates and expectations.
• Own IRB submission preparation and coordination; route reviewer feedback and required documents.
• Create and maintain project plans, Gantt charts, timelines, budgets, and deliverable trackers.
• Coordinate workflow across the science team; foresee deadlines and dependencies.
• Track deliverables and elevate risks before timelines are affected.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and study throughput.
• Safeguard study integrity by raising concerns when terms conflict with research quality.
• Support study close-out, final reporting, publications, or abstracts as capacity allows.
