Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a part-time Ski Area Lead to supervise the lift operations team and support Ski Area operations. The role requires leading staff, ensuring procedures are followed, and coordinating equipment maintenance. Occasional duties may include base lodge support and snow removal as needed.

Strong organizational and communication skills, plus the ability to work independently and overtime, are essential. Driver’s license and acceptable MVR are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and on-the-job training as to procedures and policies.
• Previous ski area Mountain Operations experience helpful; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate expectations constructively.
• Ability to work independently with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work overtime, flexible shifts, and holidays.
• Must have driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the lift operations team.
• Ensure team members follow procedures and are properly equipped.
• Manage Equipment maintenance, requisition, and replacement; report needs to Snow Bowl Manager.
• Report safety hazards or violations and personnel problems to supervisor.
• Provide ongoing training to employees and communicate with diverse teams.
• Perform additional duties to support department mission as assigned.
• Adhere to Middlebury College policies and perform duties safely and professionally.
• Possible involvement in related Ski Area operations at Snow Bowl and Rikert as requested.
