Job summary

Marshall Investigative Group seeks a part-time SIU Investigator in Houston, TX to conduct complex inspections of suspected insurance fraud. Responsibilities include field surveillance, in-depth investigations, witness interviews, and documentation of findings. Licensing is required or obtainable; independence and integrity are essential.

Strong communication skills are a must. The role emphasizes thorough case work, collaboration with adjusters and attorneys, and maintaining discretion

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain a Private Investigator license. CFE or CIFI preferred.
• Previous SIU or investigative experience with an insurance carrier or firm required.
• Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance with standard coverage required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage long surveillance assignments (8–10 hours per day, including weekends as needed).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations into suspected insurance fraud claims.
• Perform surveillance, accident scene investigations, and witness canvassing.
• Conduct recorded statements, interviews, and examinations under oath/sworn statements.
• Review policy documents, databases, and other investigative sources.
• Identify red flags, compensability issues, and misrepresentation.
• Prepare clear, detailed, and accurate written investigative reports.
• Collaborate with adjusters, attorneys, analysts, and external experts as needed.
• Uphold professionalism, ethics, and discretion at all times.
