Job summary

City of Troy, Public Works, is seeking a part-time Transportation Driver to shuttle residents and visitors. Starting pay is $14.75–$16.00 per hour, with three eight-hour shifts weekly.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid Michigan driver's license, ability to operate tablets, pass a pre-employment screening, and to obtain a Chauffeur's License and Medical Card. You will perform safety checks, assist riders, follow routes, and maintain a clean vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Michigan driver license with clean driving record.
• Ability to use tablets and cell phones.
• Must be able to sit and drive up to four hours.
• Must obtain Chauffeur's License and Medical Card by hire date.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen; random testing.

Responsibilities

• Drive a passenger bus and provide safe shuttle service to riders.
• Welcome riders, communicate stops and safety information clearly.
• Deliver excellent customer service to riders.
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections and refueling as needed.
• Report vehicle damage or maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Follow routes, obey traffic regulations, and use defensive driving.
• Keep vehicle clean at all times.
• Perform other related duties as required.
