Bloomfield Arts & Crafts Studio in Edmond, OK is seeking an Assistant Sewing Instructor for part‑time hours. You will work with the Lead Instructor to support classes for kids (9+) and adults, teaching foundational hand‑sewing skills and safety while maintaining a positive learning environment.

You will help students master sewing basics, follow lesson plans, and communicate progress to families. This role focuses on collaboration, reliability, and a passion for hands‑on learning.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate hand sewing and machine sewing skills.
• Comfortable working with kids (ages 9+) and adults.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, reliability, and a team‑first mindset.
• Previous teaching, assisting, or studio experience a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Instructor in sewing classes for both kids and adults, using Bloomfield’s established lesson plans.
• Maintain knowledge of all lesson plans so you’re able to confidently support students.
• Work with the Lead Instructor on classroom management.
• Help set new students up for success — teaching foundational hand‑sewing skills and classroom safety.
• Guide students through the foundations of sewing.
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment for every student.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and class updates.
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe for everyone.
• Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure smooth class operations.
• Help prepare students for the studio’s Triannual Showcase, supporting skill-building throughout the session toward their showcase piece.
