Job summary

Bloomfield Arts & Crafts Studio in Edmond is seeking an Assistant Crochet Instructor to support kids' crochet classes and assist the Lead Instructor. Part-time, 10–20 hours per week, $12–$13/hour, with evenings and Saturdays.

You will help teach foundations, keep the classroom safe and organized, and communicate with parents about progress. Prior teaching or crochet experience is a plus, but we value enthusiasm, teamwork, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate crochet skills (foundations and simple pattern reading)
• Comfortable working with kids (ages 8+)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, reliability, and a team-first mindset
• Previous teaching, assisting, or studio experience a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Instructor in crochet classes for kids, using Bloomfield's established lesson plans
• Maintain knowledge of all lesson plans so you're able to confidently support students
• Work hand-in-hand with the Lead Instructor, following their guidance on classroom management
• Help set new students up for success — teaching foundational crochet skills (holding the hook, chaining, basic stitches) and classroom safety
• Guide students through the foundations of crochet
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment for every student
• Communicate with parents about student progress and class updates
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and safe for everyone
• Collaborate closely with other team members to ensure smooth class operations
• Help prepare students for the studio's Triannual Showcase, supporting skill-building throughout the session toward their showcase piece
