Job summary

The Kern River Transitional Care Center is seeking a dependable part-time cook to join the dietary team. You will prepare nutritious meals per menus, follow portion controls, and ensure safety and sanitation in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities include following recipes, preparing special diets, recording temperatures, and working with other departments. Prior hospital or long-term care cooking experience and ServSafe certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals per menus and follow portion control guides.
• Prepare meals for special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals.
• Assist with serving meals and clean cooking areas.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator or Director of Nurses.
