Ridgeview Health Center in San Diego, CA is seeking a dedicated Diet Aide to support meal tray preparation and therapeutic diet portioning for residents in our skilled nursing and assisted living environments.

You will assist with dining room setup, take resident meal orders, and contribute to a respectful, patient-centered dining experience. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and advancement in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Empathy for elderly and compassionate patient care.
• Excellent customer service and listening skills.
• Be reliable, organized, and a team player.
• Food handler card required or obtainable.
• Six months’ experience as a diet aide or diet clerk preferred but on-the-job training provided.

Responsabilités

• Assist in set-up of the dining room and take resident meal orders in a courteous manner.

The Server/Nutrition Services Diet Aide is responsible for meal tray set-up and the preparation/portioning of therapeutic diets for the skilled nursing tray line in accordance with physician orders and posted therapeutic diet menus. Assists with the set-up of the assisted living restaurant style dining room prior to meal service and takes resident meal orders in a courteous manner.

What you will bring:

• Strong desire to work with and have empathy for the elderly.

• Food handler card (obtainable through community)
• Six month’s experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility preferred but not required. Will train on-the-job.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
• Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards.
