Job summary

River Lodge Assisted Living in Mountain Home, AR is seeking an energetic Dietary Aide to support residents with nutritious meals and compassionate service in the health center dining areas.

You will prepare desserts, assist with serving, maintain sanitary work stations, and follow diet orders and instructions, while delivering friendly, respectful care to residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions.
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required.
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates according to diet orders.
• Empathy for the elderly and ability to work with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center pantries.
• Sets up tables in the health center dining rooms and breaks them down after meals.
• Transports hot and cold foods to and from health center pantries.
• Transports all required non-food items to and from health center pantries.
• Washes silver, glass, and china in dish machines in pantries per regulation.
• Provides snacks and supplements per diet orders.
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms.
• Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
• Takes orders, provides service and requested items graciously and courteously.
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service.
• Answers questions about menu items and ensures orders match diet orders.
