Job summary

Galco International Ltd. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time, experienced machinist to construct, alter and repair TMJFG tooling and fixtures to tight tolerances. The role requires planning from drawings, setting up mills and lathes, and precise measurement to GD&T standards.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years related experience and be fluent in English; moldmaking experience is a plus. The position offers daytime hours with potential for additional shifts and advancement.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years related experience.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Mold making, or final mold assembly or mold repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists with designing TMJFG to be constructed.
• Builds TMJFG from drawings or layouts.
• Diagnoses and corrects problems with TMJFG.
• Plans machining by studying blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting GD&T.
• Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing, drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to procedures and processes.
