Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is hiring a part-time Cook to prepare meals for residents and guests, following menus and standard recipes. You will assist other kitchen staff and ensure proper food prep, portioning, and plating with attention to safety and hygiene.

The role requires at least three years of line cook experience and good communication skills, with shifts spanning morning and midday hours. Comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent or technical school.
• Minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training.
• Good communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to planned menu using standard recipes.
• Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
• Communicate shortages or outages to supervisor.
• Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
• Stock and clean station for next shift.
• Follow proper food rotation policies.
• Maintain a positive attitude supporting a team environment.
• Promote positive relations with residents, families, and guests.
• Maintain safety and sanitation per plans and policies.
• Present professional appearance in uniform and name tag.
