NorthPointe Woods in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a dependable Part-Time Cook to join our senior living kitchen. You’ll prepare quality meals, support dietary needs, and help keep the kitchen running smoothly as part of a friendly team.

No culinary degree is required; you should be 18+, have HS diploma, 1 year cooking experience, and be comfortable with commercial equipment. This role offers part-time shifts on 1st and 2nd shift with a focus on safe food handling and great resident service.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience cooking a variety of foods in quantity.
• Experience safely using commercial cooking equipment and utensils.
• Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to established recipes, menus, dietary requirements, and portion standards
• Make sure food is flavorful, attractive, nutritious, and served at the proper temperature
• Follow special dietary requirements and applicable dietary guidelines
• Assist with daily food preparation, portioning, and meal service
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards
• Work cooperatively with Dietary Aides and other team members
• Keep meal preparation and service organized and on schedule
• Help create a positive, respectful environment for residents and coworkers
• Provide friendly and respectful service to our residents throughout the meal experience
