Job summary

Glen Eddy in Schenectady, part of St. Peter’s Health Partners, seeks compassionate Wait Staff to join our dining team in a restaurant-style setting for our residents.

This part-time role features rotating shifts and opportunities to provide warm, attentive service during meals. You’ll work with kitchen staff to deliver daily specials, maintain high standards of hygiene and appearance, and support resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous wait staff or customer service experience preferred (especially in hospitality or healthcare settings).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for serving older adults and enhancing their dining experience.
• Dependability, professionalism, and a team-focused mindset.
• Ability to read and write at a 6th grade level.
• Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, timely, and professional table service to residents during mealtimes.
• Communicate daily specials and menu offerings clearly and enthusiastically.
• Ensure that tables are clean, properly set, and residents feel valued and attended to.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure meals are served correctly and promptly.
• Maintain a warm and respectful environment in the dining room.
• Maintains high standards for personal appearance and hygiene.
• Follows all food service department policies and safety rules.
