Job summary

Aventura at Walton Hills is seeking a friendly, energetic Activity Aide to help create meaningful activities for residents and support their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. The role emphasizes engagement, safety, and a compassionate approach in daily programs.

As a part-time team member, you will plan and lead activities, adapt to individual needs, and collaborate with the care team to foster a vibrant, inclusive community for seniors in Walton Hills, Ohio.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with seniors in activities, recreation, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, dependable, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
• Ability to work effectively with residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Must be able to work cooperatively with residents, families, and members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and facilitating daily activities and recreational programs for residents.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Lead or assist with activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, and group programs.
• Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may not participate in group programs.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and resident-centered programs.
• Help prepare activity materials, supplies, and the activity area.
• Maintain a welcoming, safe, and organized environment.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage social interaction.
• Document resident participation and provide feedback to the Activity Director regarding resident interests and needs.
• Follow all facility policies and procedures while promoting resident dignity, choice, and quality of life.
