Job summary

Sequoia Transitional Care is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Activities Assistant to design and lead engaging activities for residents. This role supports outings, in-room activities, and monthly calendars while maintaining records and encouraging participation.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, enjoys working with seniors, and demonstrates creativity, strong communication, and adaptability. Flexible hours are offered with a supportive team and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Experience with seniors or disability support is a plus.
• Creative, enthusiastic, patient and compassionate personality.
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read procedures and follow instructions precisely.
• Ability to adapt activities to individual resident needs.
• Basic math skills; no license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and track participation.
• Lead recreational programs, crafts, music and social events.
• Encourage participation in group and self-directed activities.
• Provide materials and arrange transportation for outings.
• Support resident assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
• Communicate with staff, families and partners; follow safety policies.
