Job summary

The Northbridge Companies seeks an Activity Assistant to work with our Engagement Director in creating enjoyable activities that support residents’ physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being. You will help design and run a range of programs to keep our community lively and connected.

Applicants should love working with seniors, be creative, and able to lead activities for diverse abilities. The role requires flexibility for weekends/evenings and basic computer use for record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some recreation/gerontology coursework a plus.
• Enjoy connecting with seniors and adapting activities to various abilities.
• Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills; flexible shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Engagement Director to plan and run activities (exercise programs, sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, events with speakers/music).
• Engage residents personally to tailor activities to interests and needs.
• Assist planning trips outside the community; manage details for safety and happiness.
• Create a warm, inclusive environment enabling residents to make friends and discover new interests.
• Maintain records of participation and feedback to improve programs.
• Share creative ideas to keep programs engaging and aligned with seniors' preferences.
