Viva Senior Living is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activities Department in Chesapeake, VA. The role focuses on creating a warm, engaging environment for residents through a variety of daily activities and events.

The candidate will assist with planning outings, supervising activities, and coordinating with the Activities Director to ensure residents’ social needs are met while maintaining high standards of care and compassion.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must maintain compassion and dignity for residents and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating an engaging, home-like atmosphere by planning, organizing, and implementing activities for residents.
• Conduct activities for residents and visiting family members as directed by Activity Director.
• Uphold resident morale by offering engaging activities and providing supervision for each activity.
• Inform residents of upcoming activities and reference the schedule of events on the bulletin board.
• Distribute daily activity schedules as per community protocol.
• Assist in planning outings to meet residents' needs and accompany residents on bus to events.
