The Center for Acoustics and Vibration at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a friendly, part-time team member to support our seminar series and website during the academic year. You will help deliver a smooth seminar experience from promotion to day-of logistics, working closely with the Director.

Responsibilities include coordinating bi-weekly or weekly seminars, configuring Zoom, posting promotions, and uploading recordings. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Love events, communication, and helping programs run smoothly? The Center for Acoustics and Vibration (College of Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University) is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented part-time team member to support our seminar series and website throughout the academic year.

In this role, you'll help us deliver a smooth, welcoming seminar experience-from promotion to day-of logistics-working closely with the Director of the Center for Acoustics and Vibration.

  • Coordinate bi-weekly seminars during the academic year (arrive early, set up basic A/V, serve as the on-site point person, and help with clean-up)
  • Set up Zoom webinars and support hybrid/virtual speaker events
  • Create and post event promotions (website posts, email announcements/reminders, and other channels as needed)
  • Post event recordings to the website after each event

Timing, hours, and pay: During the academic year, seminars are often weekly, with an estimated commitment of about 6 hours per week. Pay rate: starts at $18/hour.

Who you are: You're organized, reliable, and comfortable communicating with a wide range of people. You can write clear messages, stay on top of details, and help events run smoothly.

About us: The Center for Acoustics and Vibration is part of the College of Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. As availability allows, there may also be opportunities for additional hours supporting other Center activities.
