Job summary

Roy Junior High in Weber School District is seeking a SEL Special Education Paraprofessional. The role supports the SEL teacher and related service staff in instructional and non-instructional activities for students with significant behavioral disabilities, developing and monitoring intervention plans and classroom supports.

The position is 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours/week), 180-day calendar with non-exempt status and eligibility for Utah retirement benefits.

Qualifications

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures for extended periods.
Must be able to drive district vehicles to transportation students to/from school and other locations.
May require working with bio-hazards and participate in mandated trainings.

Responsibilities

Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when managing students with challenging behavior.
Interpret and implement written behavior plans.
Observe, collect data, and analyze classroom conditions to support behavior plan strategies.
Collaborate with school teams to provide instruction and support effectively.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Relate to special needs students in a positive and confident manner.
Duties as assigned by the building administrator or special education staff.
