Job summary

Allied Universal is a leading security and facility services company recruiting for a part-time Security Officer at a government location in Newark, DE. The role focuses on screening visitors, enforcing access control, and delivering courteous customer service.

Responsibilities include using screening equipment, verifying IDs, and reporting any irregularities. A background check and drug screening are required by law, with flexible, shift-based hours in the afternoon/evening window.

Qualifications

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals and belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, reporting prohibited items or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Verify identification, access credentials, and visitor authorization in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate screening-related logs and complete required reports while communicating observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
