Job summary

Allied Universal in Charleston, SC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to patrol unarmed at a retail location. You will maintain a visible security presence, assist customers and staff, and follow post orders to deter incidents while providing courteous service.

The role offers flexible scheduling (evening and weekend shifts) and requires a valid driver’s license, reliable communication, and a commitment to integrity and teamwork as part of Allied Universal’s service culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, receiving areas, and perimeter areas, as assigned.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior, and report observations to appropriate store representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor and vendor interactions, and maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.
