Job summary

The Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, IL seeks a hotel Security Officer to patrol the premises and protect guests, associates, and assets. You will monitor access, respond to incidents, and document shifts according to hotel procedures.

You will collaborate with department heads, assist in emergencies, and ensure compliance with cash handling and loss-prevention policies. Overnight Friday and Saturday shifts may be required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effectively monitor and control access to public area, storage areas, associate areas, and locker rooms.
• Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and damaged or inoperative safety equipment.
• Log activities and events occurring on shift.

Friday and Saturday Overnight shifts

Physical Demands: Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Talking. Hearing.

Environmental Conditions: Both: Inside and outside. A job is considered “both” if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts, approximately 75% or more of the time inside.

Math Skills: Basic math skills may be needed.

Language Skills: English language.

Specific Vocational Preparation: Security Certification is preferred.
