Intermountain Health is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at the Supply Chain Center in Midvale, Utah to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves monitoring security systems, enforcing policy, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, conducting searches, safety inspections, and supporting investigations while ensuring HIPAA compliance and parking enforcement. 24 hours per week with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's License (if applicable for the role).
• Current Basic Life Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• At least 21 years of age.
• If located in the State of Montana Security Guard Licensure is required within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors security technology systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• De-escalation: use verbal and non-verbal strategies to calm individuals and resolve conflicts peacefully.
• Intervenes to protect safety when patients are aggressive or violent, including using physical restraints when necessary.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance when reporting crimes or incidents, disclosing only the minimum necessary information to law enforcement.
• Responds to bomb threats and suspicious packages following protocols for safety.
• Participates in drills (infant abduction, active shooter) to prepare staff for real-life situations.
• Conducts searches of patients and searches for narcotics, complying with legal requirements.
• Conducts safety inspections of walking surfaces and fire extinguishers to mitigate risks.
• Enforces parking regulations to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Collaborates with HR and law enforcement to conduct investigations and protect facility safety.
