Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in Rockville, MD to safeguard clients across government locations and facilities. You will operate screening equipment, support access control, verify credentials, and maintain safety through professional customer service and clear communication.

You will perform routine patrols, respond to incidents, and help deter security risks while adhering to site policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, belongings, and authorized items entering the location using established access-control and screening procedures; communicate screening requirements professionally and respectfully.
• Verify identification, visitor credentials, and access authorizations, and direct individuals to appropriate check-in points or personnel.
• Respond to incidents, prohibited-item findings, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, reporting unusual conditions, access concerns, and maintenance issues according to site procedures.
