Job summary

Seattle Children’s seeks a Security Officer II to act as primary responder for safety concerns and security incidents across facilities, including the Magnuson Clinic.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, BLS and NCI certifications within 90 days, and completion of required trainings within a year. This part-time position offers Seattle Children’s benefits package and a comprehensive compensation range.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a combination of 3 years' experience in Security Services or related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement)
• Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire
• Completion of Seattle Children’s Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire
• Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required for position/role.
• Score of 80% or above on Seattle Children’s Security Competency Exam in assigned area within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Primary responders for all safety concerns, security incidents, and service requests at Seattle Children’s facilities.
• Respond to fire emergencies, hazardous spills, medical emergencies, and other critical incidents.
• Deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents; ensure safety of patients, families, visitors, and staff.
