Job summary

Seattle Children's is seeking Security Officers for both Officer I and II levels to cover multiple shifts at facilities in the Seattle area. Officers will deter, detect, respond, and document safety incidents and assist with access control and emergencies.

Officer II requires a combination of education/experience and certifications (BLS, NCI, autism training, firearms safety, car seat safety) with competency exams. Salary ranges are posted per hour, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or 3 years' experience in Security Services or related field.
• BLS Certification within 90 days of hire and NCI Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of Seattle Children's Safety trainings within stated timeframes.
• Driver's license and security certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to safety concerns and security incidents at Seattle Children's facilities.
• Provide a visible security presence and deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document incidents.
• Support emergency response, fire, medical, and disaster procedures.
• Assist with access control and incident reporting.

Education

Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field

3 years' experience in Security Services or related field

High School Diploma plus 2 years in Customer Service or Security

2 years Customer Service or Security experience

CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days

Tools

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training

NCI Autism Training

Car Seat Safety Training

Wheelchair vehicle Training

IAHSS Basic Certification
