Base pay range

$21.70/hr - $21.70/hr

Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Safety, the Campus Safety Officer is responsible for making routine patrols of the campus, completing daily logs, and preparing incident reports. Officers conduct initial responses and investigations of campus incidents, coordinate with emergency responders, and report safety hazards. They may also fill in at a gatehouse and may need to stay beyond scheduled hours during emergencies. All activities contribute to the university's mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Protect life and property, enforce campus regulations
• Report violations and investigate incidents
• Perform routine patrols and record observations
• Report incidents, injuries, or crimes
• Question witnesses and collect facts without physical contact
• Manage traffic during events and assist at gatehouses
• Provide visitor information and public assistance
• Maintain logs and reports
• Report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions
• Conduct safety inspections of fire safety equipment
• Ensure building entrances are secured
• Participate in emergency drills
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of security experience. Valid guard card, First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications required.

Part-time, non-exempt position at $21.70/hr. Entry level.
