Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Wilmington, DE to provide dependable, flexible coverage with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to earn more through a pick‑up shifts program. The role supports access control, visitor management, and emergency response at a chemical/petrochemical site.

The position offers a base schedule, potential up to 40 hours per week, and a pathway toward full‑time advancement within the industry leader.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials, issuing visitor and contractor passes, maintaining entry records, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle traffic, conduct access‑control checks in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site protocols and communicating with supervisors and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, parking areas, exterior grounds, and designated facility areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
