Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced, Part Time, in Reading, PA. The role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $17.55 per hour, with responsibilities spanning student and staff safety, incident response, and regular patrols across campus facilities. The position requires at least 6 months of security experience, basic computer skills, and strong customer service abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures.
