Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in New York, NY to provide reliable security services at a designated site with flexible hours. You can earn more by picking up additional shifts through our scheduling platform and pursue a path toward full-time opportunities.

The role includes responsibility for access control, incident response, patrols, and detailed reporting, with a focus on resident, visitor, and vendor protection.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with property procedures, and report unusual activity.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the building, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and communicate relevant security-related observations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
