Allied Universal is North America’s leading security and facility services company. The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced role in New York offers reliable, flexible hours with anchor shifts and additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include patient and staff security, patrols, incident response, and precise reporting. Minimums include a HS diploma and background check; licensing may be required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies at a public healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, requesting appropriate assistance when needed.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to established procedures.
• Complete required reports, logs, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
